Abingdon Pride Picnic –LOCATION CHANGED–

Event Details

All your Abingdon Pride 2026 info in one place

Abingdon Pride will be on Saturday 27th June at Hales Meadow from 14:00.

Unfortunately we have had to announce a location change for pride this year. This is because there is a second event already happening at the Abbey at the same time as ours. Our new location is Hales Meadow. The access information here has been updated to reflect this.
We understand that last minute changes can be distressing and confusing. If you are having difficulty working out the new location, or are feeling anxious about navigating new directions please contact us.

Lots of free resources will be available this year and we are fundraising to provide compression underwear to local transfeminine people – please bring cash if you are able. Your support allows us to continue our work.

Our plan is for an informal and inclusive community picnic with no cops or corporations.
There will not be any invited police presence; we do not recommend engaging with police. You can say “no comment” to any police questions to help keep our community safe.

Things to bring:
– Bag for your litter
– Flags and signs
– Picnic blanket
– Food and drinks
– Cash for our fundraiser
– Friends and allies
– Water Bottles (free refills)
We encourage you to bring your own suncream this year as we cannot guarantee we can provide it.

Remember:
Please be very careful taking photos, and don’t post pictures of anyone online without their consent. If someone is taking unwanted pictures of you please speak to someone you trust or a first aider and we will help you as best we can.

Resource Giveaway:
We will be giving away free chest binders on a first come first served basis. Most of our binders have been donated by Spectrum.
You are welcome to donate any binders or unused binder tape of your own to the swap.
We are able to provide a variety of tank, crop and binder lights in the following sizes:
– XXS
– XS
– S
– L
– XL
– XXL
– 3XL
– 4XL
– 5XL
– 6XL
– 7XL
Tape measures and sizing charts will be available on the day.
You are welcome to try a binder on over your clothes, or use the public toilets nearby.
There will also be a variety of makeup and beauty products you can take home.

Donations/Fundraiser
This year we are fundraising to provide free gaffs/compression underwear for transfeminine people.
We are aiming to raise £300 so we can order a full range of sizes.
We will be taking cash donations towards this at Pride. We are unable to take card payments. If you would be interested in helping us fundraise towards this goal or have a fundraising idea please get in contact with us!

We will have badges, keychains and radar keys available which will be free to take. If you can afford it we encourage you to give a small cash donation toward the fundraiser for these. You will not be asked for any money, these resources are available to everyone.

Access Info
Hales Meadow is wheelchair accessible from the car park and the wheelchair ramp to the south. There is a steeper slope directly from the bridge.
There is a mix of compacted gravel and compacted dirt paths. We will be on the grass under the trees which can be a bit bumpy.

There is an accessible public toilet by the car park that is 20p (card only) or free with a radar key. We will be providing free radar keys to take home or you can just borrow one from a first aider

We will be providing facemasks and hand sanitiser. Please do not attend Pride if you have symptoms of Covid, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive recently.

The nearest bus stop to Hales Meadow is Abingdon High Street (5 minute walk) the next closest is Vineyard (10 minute walk).
There is a car park directly to the south of the meadow – Hales Meadow Car Park (although this has limited spaces) and Rye Farm Car Park is just across the road (and is bigger) These are paid but free for blue badge holders and motorcycles.

If you are located within Oxfordshire and are concerned about paying for travel, please contact us by email or send us a message and we can help with this.

If you have any further questions please contact us.

Hope to see you there!
